We protest against the Turkish state’s campaign of arrests targeting socialists!
We demand the immediate release of our conference delegates and all those detained!
In Turkey, fascism’s campaign of arrests targeting socialists, opposition institutions and individuals continues. On the morning of 3 February 2026, raids were carried out in 22 cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya, targeting the offices and homes of members of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), the Socialist Women’s Councils (SKM), the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF), the DİSK/LİMTER trade union -İŞ trade union, the BEKSAV cultural centre, Poland Ecology, Free Young Women (ÖGK), the Lawyers’ Office of the Oppressed (EHB) and the offices of the Etkin Haber Ajansı (ETHA) news agency, as well as the homes of their employees. Laptops, hard drives and other electronic devices were confiscated from the offices and homes.
Around 100 socialists were arrested as part of this operation. Among them was Uğur Ok, delegate of our International Solidarity Conference with Political Prisoners, which we held in Paris on 20 and 21 December 2025. Also arrested were former prisoners who had spent decades in jail, human rights activists, journalists , the co-chairs and leaders of ESP, SKM, SGDF, BEKSAV and LİMTER-İş.
Despite all the attacks and arrests, those arrested and their organisations are the ones who organise workers against fascism. The prisoners will continue their work even from prison.
They are the ones who carry the voice of the resistant workers, women and young people who do not bow to fascism, the environmentalists who fight against the plundering of nature, the Palestinian people who are victims of genocide, the Rojava revolution that is to be stifled, and the voice of the freedom fighters who resist from India to the Philippines, from Iran to Europe.
They are former prisoners, relatives of prisoners, journalists, writers, publishers, ecologists, trade unionists, actors, musicians, lawyers and human rights activists.
They are the ones who are determined to fight for revolution and socialism, for the freedom of the Kurdish people and all oppressed peoples.
They are the ones who stand up for political prisoners around the world and strengthen international struggle and solidarity.
They are the ones who never back down in the face of arrests and imprisonment and resolutely continue the legitimate struggle against fascism, imperialism and colonialism.
We protest in the strongest terms against this wave of arrests targeting socialists and demand their immediate release.
We call on all revolutionary and democratic forces to show solidarity with our conference delegates and all imprisoned socialists and to protest against this wave of arrests with actions and press statements.
The imprisoned socialists must be released immediately! kordel
Freedom for all political prisoners!
